Wednesday January 26th 2011:
So guys, I'll cut to the chase. It's a new year and a lot has been changing around us lately. Work life had increased tenfold, as well as personal and family life. New ventures, new opportunities and new projects have arisen and are crowding my already full-to-the-brim plate. And as a result I've been having to rethink the statuses of a lot of my long-suffering projects.
Unfortunately, the comic is one of the things that is really suffering.
As of today, Muse Academy is officially on hiatus. I was hoping to finish up the current storyline before announcing this, but things have just gotten too much, too fast for me to cope. I'm sure you've notice the quality slipping from three fully inked and coloured pages to just one sketched page per week. My interest in the comic is waning, the money and effort that I put into it is too much to keep up. This was not an easy decision to make: Muse Academy has been a huge part of my life for the past six years, four of which were online. This story is still my brainchild, but there are times when common sense has to win out over ambition.
However. This hiatus won't be permanent. While I'm trying to clear and pursue other ventures, Muse Academy will slip back into a development stage. Being so early in the fourth book, this will be an easy transition to make: I'll just be hitting the proverbial 'pause' button on the comic. While on hiatus I'll be sure to develop the comic, style and characters further, posting any illustrations and concept art while I gear the storyline up again, preparing it either for a new medium or a total comeback. Hopefully when I return it'll be with the same tempo and enthusiasm as when I started the comic four years ago. So keep your eyes peeled, subscribe to the RSS feed and devwatch me on deviantART if you'd still like to follow progress. The RP section of the Prie Village Forum remains active, and the website will remain up for reader's reference. If you need to get in contact with me, please do so by e-mailing me at jenjen26785 ( a ) hotmail.com since a lot of my old e-mails were lost with my old address and I no longer trust it.
Special shout-outs go to TJ, Di, Anners, Vitani, Astra, Emmi and everyone who has been incredibly supportive of the comic in the past few years! You've all been wonderful <3
